Although la Saint Valentin Day has passed, romance (and romantic notions about food) still lingers in the air. Reminiscing just the other day, I thought about my dreamy wedding day nearly three years ago & how lovely the wedding cake was. Wlady and I chose a croquembouche, a typical French wedding cake, for our special day. The height and the delicacy of this pâte à choux pastry filled with crème pâtissière and draped with spun sugar mesmerized and wooed all of us, especially our enfants. And this is what food should do, n’est-ce pas?
